Dr. Gladys Kamanga-Sollo is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist (also known as a physiatrist). One of the things she really loves about her specialty is it allows her to treat the “whole person”. She works closely with patients to help them regain as much function as possible.
Physiatrist treat patients of all ages with diverse problems ranging from simple low back strain to complex disorders, such as spinal cord injury, brain injury and spasticity. Their comprehensive approach includes treating the entire patient, not just symptoms and they do it in an aggressive, non-surgical approach to treating musculoskeletal disease and injury, including different types of pain.
Dr. Kamanga-Sollo feels her compassion, listening skills and patience are the key traits that help her to develop individualized treatment plans for her patients. While electrodiagnostics is her specialty, she also can help and treat any type of musculoskeletal pain in the hip, knee, back, shoulder, elbow, hand, and foot. Dr. Kamanga-Sollo also does Botox® injections for the treatment of spasticity, chronic migraines, and cervical dystonia. In addition to the use of Botox® for spasticity she also utilizes other medications as well as coordination with our in house Pain Management specialist.
In her spare time Dr. Kamanga-Sollo loves traveling. She also enjoys dancing, long distance running , group related fitness activities and loves to sing. She finds volunteer work very rewarding.
