Gina Nicole Monaco, MD, PhD
Board Eligible Neurosurgeon
Dr. Monaco has treated numerous patients with neurosurgical conditions and specializes in spine care, peripheral nerve surgery, brain tumors, brain hemorrhage, and patient education. During the final year of her neurosurgical residency at Indiana University in 2020, she completed a neurosurgical oncology fellowship and focused on oncological disorders affecting the nervous system such as metastases (spread of cancer) to the brain and spine as well as primary brain tumors among others.
As the result of her mother’s nursing career, Dr. Monaco grew up immersed in the collaborative care model and understands the value of having multiple perspectives in effectively caring for patients. During medical school and residency she benefitted from outstanding neurosurgery mentors and currently strives to pay this forward.
Dr. Monaco finds great reward in improving her patients’ lives through both neurosurgical operations and non-surgical options. Her patients appreciate her individualized, thorough, and compassionate approach.
Outside of the office, Dr. Monaco enjoys cooking and baking, singing, and playing her violin.
